FlexPath is a flexible, online-focused option for 9th–12th grade students in the Garfield Re-2 School District. It allows students to customize their education by choosing when and where they learn while still remaining connected to their home high school.

Yes. Students earn credits toward a diploma from their brick-and-mortar high school (Rifle High School or Coal Ridge High School) and participate in the same graduation ceremonies as their in-person peers.

The program is tuition-free for any Garfield Re-2 student who is approved through the admissions process.

Students must meet with their school counselor and an administrator to determine if the program is a good fit. Final approval is determined by school administration.

FlexPath uses Colorado Digital Learning Solutions (CDLS) for its curriculum. A full list of core and elective courses is available on their website, and your counselor will help you select a course load aligned with your academic and career plans (ICAP).

Enrollment in FlexPath is a semester-long commitment. Because schedules and course seats are finalized at the start of the term, students are expected to complete the semester in the online format. If challenges arise, your Online Mentor and School Counselor will provide support. Requests to return to in-person learning will be reviewed at the end of the semester for the following term.

Yes. Coursework is accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. However, students are expected to stay actively engaged and make regular weekly progress in each course.

Attendance is based on activity within the online platform. Students are generally expected to complete about 6% of each course per week, which typically requires 4–5 hours of active work per class.

If a student does not log in for an entire week, an Attendance Letter will be sent home. Continued inactivity may lead to required in-person attendance at the online lab and could result in a referral to the Student Attendance Review Board.

School Counselors: Help ensure you stay on track for graduation and meet monthly with students

Garfield Re-2 provides a school-issued Chromebook at no cost to all accepted students. Families are responsible for providing reliable internet access and a quiet place to work.

The use of AI for submitted assignments is considered plagiarism unless it is specifically allowed by your instructor and properly cited. All work must reflect your own thinking and ideas.

Using your online textbook, personal notes, or reputable educational websites to help understand concepts

Unapproved shortcuts:
Using answer keys, “study” sites that provide direct answers, or AI tools to complete assignments. If a tool is doing the thinking for you, it is likely a violation of academic integrity.

1. Connect with your counselor
   Schedule a meeting with your Rifle High School or Coal Ridge High School counselor or complete the online interest form

2. Complete a readiness interview
   Students and parents/guardians meet with school staff to determine readiness

3. Sign the contract
   Approved students and families sign the FlexPath Program Contract

4. Attend orientation
   All new students must attend a mandatory in-person orientation before the semester begins
